Winners and losers of the credit crisis at the EDHEC Alternative Investment Days
What lessons can be drawn from the credit crisis?
At the EDHEC Alternative Investment Days in London on December 10, EDHEC Associate Professor Dominic O'Kane will examine credit risk and credit derivatives at the alternative beta seminar and draw a series of conclusions from an analysis of the ongoing credit crisis.
The specific themes explored by Professor O'Kane at this special stream session will be:
- Winners and losers in the credit crisis
- Entanglement: do credit derivatives increase the risk of the banking sector?
- Fear of the exotic: trading credit derivatives in the new environment
- The performance of credit-derivatives-based credit risk management
- Have dynamic credit products (CPPI and CPDOs) weathered the crisis?
The distinguished panel experts discussing these points with Professor O'Kane will be:
- Colin Lawrence, Director of the Prudential Risk Division of the Financial Services Authority;
- Robina Barber-Bennett, Head of Structured Products with the Bank of Scotland;
- Alan Capper, Head of Asset Allocation at LV Asset Management; and
- Robert McAdie, Global Head of Credit Strategy with Barclays Capital.
